Practice Information
The Lockswood Dental Practice was first established in 1984 proudly serving the Locksheath and surrounding towns now for over 25 years. We are an established predominantly private dental practice and due to our exclusive location in the Locksheath Shopping Centre, we are able to provide outstanding yet affordable dentistry to both the local community and surrounding businesses.
Our practice offers a relaxed and friendly environment with highly trained and caring staff. Our focus is on preventative dentistry, however with a repertoire of general dental and specialist skills we are able to offer a comprehensive range of treatments including general dental care, cosmetic dentistry, tooth whitening, implants and minor oral surgery.
At the Lockswood Dental Practice we are committed to providing the highest possible standard of care for our patients. Our team will endeavour to work with you to fulfil your requirements and tend to your specific needs. However, if anything is beyond the skills of the practice we will make a referral to an appropriate specialist.
Whether you are a new patient or an existing one we aspire to make your experience with us a pleasant and rewarding experience. We have provided some of the following information that we hope you may find useful however, pleased do not hesitate to approach any member of staff if you have any further questions.
Appointments
Please arrive in good time for your appointments. However, if you have to cancel your appointment please give as much notice as possible as this gives us an opportunity to offer it to another patient. Appointments that are not kept or those cancelled with less than 24 hours notice are customarily subject to a charge.
Appointment Reminder System
We are now operating an automated reminder system by sending a text message to your mobile phone. If you would like to receive reminders in this way, simply inform our reception staff at your next appointment.
Payments
We provide a range of ways to pay for your dental care and we accept payment in cash, by credit and debit card or by instalments. We request that payment is made after each appointment or a 50% deposit paid at the start of treatment with the balance paid on completion. We also offer dental care under a Denplan payment plan where regular monthly payments from your bank account are made to cover the cost of your treatment.
Confidentiality
We take patient confidentiality extremely seriously at the practice and all personal information is treated with the strictest confidence. We strictly adhere to current Information Governance guidelines and have in place Confidentiality and Data Protection policies. Patient Safety
We take every precaution to safeguard you and our staff from infection. We adhere to current government cross infection guidelines. All equipment is sterilised and disposable items used wherever possible.
Emergencies
The dentists are on a local and hospital emergency rota. During normal working hours please contact us as early as possible so that arrangements can be made to see you as soon as possible. Out of hours emergency services can be reached by telephoning us on 01489 574046 and following the instruction given on our answer phone. Comments
It is of prime concern to us that the highest standards are achieved. You feedback is important and regular feedback helps us improve our services. So if you have any comments or concerns about the care or service you have received or suggestions for improvements then please let us know.
Complaints
We operate a practice in-house complaints procedure as part of a Private, Denplan and NHS system for dealing with complaints and in accordance with GDC guidelines. If you have any problems please mention this to our reception staff at the earliest opportunity and the appropriate procedure will be instigated. Our Practice Manager Marie Campbell will endeavour to deal with any complaints expediently and courteously.
General Information
Please note that our practice is situated on a first floor balcony and is accessed by a moderate flight of stairs. For people with significant disabilities or difficultly with stairs, we are more than happy to suggest another local practice with ground floor access.
