Stephen Parry BDS LDSRCS FGDP (UK) CADP - GDC50111
I qualified from the Royal Dental Hospital in 1976 and then spent three years in the Hospital service in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery. Since 1982 I have continued in the Speciality at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital and am on the Oral Surgery Specialist register. The Practice opened in 1984 and I am proud of its reputation in the community. My interest is in the delivery of implant care for patients which I began in 1989 so I have extensive experience in this form of treatment regularly updating my skills and knowledge. I am also one of Denplan’s Practice Advisors.
I am a keen sailor being involved with the International Flying Dutchman Class and in race management as a National Race Officer. I am part of the team that will be running the 2012 Paralympic Sailing Event in Portland. My wife does competition agility with our collie Millie, my daughter is married and is a Physiotherapist.
Aaron Campbell BDS FDSRCS BM - GDC71717
I was born and bred in Cornwall and graduated from Cardiff Dental School in 1996. I worked in Dental Practice in Cornwall for one year before commencing my training as a Junior Oral Surgeon at Treliske Hospital, Truro. I furthered my experience in hospital care in Middlesbrough and Chichester before entering Medical School at Southampton University in 1999 with a view to becoming a Head and Neck Surgeon. I qualified as a Doctor in 2003 and continued with my surgical training at Southampton General Hospital and Salisbury District Hospital. I have experience of Maxillofacial Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Orthopaedics and General Surgery. I returned to General Dental Practice in 2006 as I wished to balance my academic and social life. I believe in the delivery of comprehensive high quality Dentistry and have developed my skills in this way. I strive for the best for my patients.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my wife, eating out and travelling the world. I am a fanatical football fan and support The Arsenal.
Bernadette Shipley BDS MSc - GDC60562
I graduated from Liverpool in 1985 and after holding two hospital posts, joined the Community Dental Service in 1987. Here I developed my interests in treating children, phobic patients and performing root canal treatments. I obtained a Masters in Restorative Dentistry with a focus on root treatment. I have been a clinical tutor in periodontal (gum) and paediatric departments at Liverpool Hospital and offered clinical training for students in my clinic. I continue to work for the Community Dental Service in Fareham focusing on special needs dentistry including sedation for nervous patients. In general practice I endeavour to provide comprehensive patient focused care.
To relax I enjoy working with my two cocker spaniels, gardening and watching motor sports.
Nurses
Elizabeth Rix NEBDN - GDC109153
I have been nursing for 30 years with a five year gap while I had my two children, working at Lockswood Dental Practice for the last eleven years. In addition to being a qualified Dental Nurse, I obtained my diploma in Dental Nursing and hold qualifications in Dental Radiography and Implant nursing.
I have been an insulin dependent diabetic since 1997, so I look after myself by running, cycling and taking long walks with my dog ‘Snowy’, a West Highland Terrier.
Hygienists
Penny Priddy EDH - GDC1950
I have worked in the practice for several years and have established a close rapport with the patients. Whilst maintaining the practice ethos of ‘Prevention is better than care’, I am keen to take on the challenge of treating and caring for all patients that present with varied degrees of gum/periodontal disease.
I enjoy attending post graduate courses with other members of the dental team.
Jean Hey RDH - GDC4655
I qualified as a Dental Nurse in 1989 and joined the Army to train as a Dental Hygienist in 1992. After qualifying in 1994, I spent three years working abroad. I left the Army in 1997 when I got married and settled in the South three years later. I have worked at the Lockswood Dental Practice on Mondays for ten years now.
Administration & Management
Jacqui Summer
After leaving college I trained as a Dental Nurse, which I enjoyed thoroughly. I moved to working in the reception so as to enable me to balance work and bringing up my children. I have been working at Lockswood Dental Practice as a full time receptionist for almost twenty years.
Lois Richardson
I have worked with Mr Parry since 1978 in both a nursing and administrative capacity. I left dental nursing to travel and subsequently retrain in the beauty industry. After having four children I returned to Lockswood Dental Practice and continue to work as a Practice Administrator in addition to working alongside the Practice Manager.
Marie Campbell
I recently joined Lockswood Dental Practice and am currently undertaking a diploma in Dental Practice Management. I have eleven years experience in the field of health care. I believe in patient centred care and aspire to optimise the delivery of care at our practice. I am married to Aaron and much the same as him I am a keen traveller but also an avid reader of books.
