Your dentist will only ever deem a tooth extraction necessary when all other outcomes have been considered and explored.

In the following cases, a tooth extraction can be beneficial:

• Decay has reached a stage where a tooth is beyond repair.
• A tooth has become loose and can’t be repaired.
• Wisdom teeth have become impacted or infected.
• You have too many teeth crowding your mouth (extractions are sometimes performed prior to starting teeth straightening treatment).
• You are suffering from a dental infection, and a root treatment is no longer possible.
